March 14, 2011: Why Of Mice and Men

Steinbeck chose to call his book Of Mice and Men because life in general can change rapidly and unexpectedly. Steinbeck has been inspired by Robert Burns' poe "To a Mouse" to call his book Of Mice and Men. The general meaning of the title of the book is to summarize how anything can change a person's life like the way it did for the main characters in the book Of Mice and Men. Back in the 1930's their was the great depression that happened and it dramatically changed everybody's life because anybody that has money was left with nothing at all anymore. This shows how life can change suddenly that can affect everybody in the world dramatically.
